How many machines and how much mix do I need?
Answer: See our recommendations in the table below. Some crowds can consume beyond our estimates and may require additional machines. The bottom line is that every machine has a capacity limit and our High Capacity machines can freeze apx 60-75 drinks per hour under normal weather conditions. The nature of the event, weather, and the number of other drink options can impact how much freezing capacity you'll need.

Do I have to pay for mixes that I don't use?
Answer: Nope. We bring you more than we believe you will need and you pay only for what you open! The number of mixes we bring will be finalized when we call you to confirm the order. Simply return any unopened mix to the driver and we will only charge you for what was used. Each Mix is $35 plus tax
How many drinks does one batch yield?
Answer: One Bottle of Traditional Margarita Mix concentrate or batch yields 3.75 gallons of beverages when mixed with water. This is equivalent to 53 9-oz drinks. If you add Tequila and Triple Sec, it makes 4.5 gallons of beverage. This is equivalent to 64 9-oz drinks.
All other flavors like Strawberry, Pina Colada and Mai Tai yield 3 gallons of beverage when mixed with water. This is 43 9-oz drinks. If you add liquor, it makes 3.5 gallons of beverage. This is equivalent to 50 9 oz drinks.
All of our gourmet frozen mixes are guaranteed to be delicious and only our product is guaranteed to slush properly in our machines.
How much liquor do I need to purchase if the drinks are for adults?
Answer: One Bottle of Traditional Margarita Mix concentrate would need 3 liters of Tequila (this is one and a half bottles of the 1.75L handle jug) and one liter of triple sec.
All other flavor mix concentrates, we suggest 2 Liters (Tequila, Rum, or Vodka). One 1.75L bottle works just fine.
NOTE: Standard grade liquors work fine in our mix because the subtle flavors of ultra-premium brands may not be detected when mixed.
How long does the first batch take?
Answer: High-Capacity machines require about 40 minutes if the weather is cool and up to 1 hour at 85+ degrees. Shade helps a little.
Two-bowl Granita machines freeze in 2 hours under cool conditions and up to 3 hours when warm. They are not recommended for outdoor use over 85 degrees.
Freezing is a function of ambient air temperature, assuming sufficient power (see below). There is no waiting between batches with our high capacity machines because you add to the reservoir as you go, preferably before machines mix-low light comes on.
Are the machines easy to use?
Answer: Yes indeed! We mix your first batch for you and show you how to operate the machine. We are on call during your event if you have any questions. You must call us if there is a problem. NO ICE IS NEEDED.
Our Most Popular Question:
A typical Margarita Man order in Four Easy Steps
Answer:
Step 1: You place an order online through the reservation page, after which point you will receive an automatic confirmation email. We will contact you by email within 2-3 days to answer questions and finalize details.
Step 2: We will email you 24-48 hours before your event date to confirm the machine type, mix selection, and your one hour window of when the machine will arrive.
Step 3: Your machine arrives! The driver will wheel the machine to the appropriate place for your event. We will take the mixing jug we provide, and fill it with 3.25 gallons of water. Then we will add one bottle of Traditional Margarita Mix Concentrate. If this is a virgin batch, stop here and continue to Step Four. If you are adding liquor We will add 3 Liters of Tequila you provide to the mix jug (or one and half bottles of the 1.75Liter Handle Jug).
NOTE: If you were using Strawberry or any other flavors, We would fill the mix jug with 2.5 gallons of water. Add the flavored Mix Concentrate, and then add 1.75 Liter of your choice of alcohol.
Step 4: We will slosh it around and then pour it into the machine. Turn the Machine to the "ON" position. Frozen drinks on their way!
What are the most common issues?
- Insufficient power (see next question) due to a maxed out circuit from other appliances, GFI's on outdoor outlets, or unapproved extension cords.
- Turning power switch to "clean mode" instead of "power-on mode."
- Object near air vents deflecting hot air back into the machine.
- Very hot weather.
- Pouring more drinks than the machine can freeze.
- Not mixing liquid well before pouring it into the machine.
Start the machine early if possible and call us immediately if the machine is not frozen within the specified time (see above). Most issues are easily corrected with a quick phone call and we're more than happy to help!
How much electrical power is required?
Answer: The most common problem we encounter is insufficient power. Our machines require a full circuit of power, a standard 110-115 volt 15 amp outlet dedicated to the use of each machine. Running other appliances on the same circuit will take power from the machine and possibly melt internal wiring. Only use our extension cords because other cords may lose too much power. Call us if the machine does not freeze within the normal amount of time. GFI's (safety buttons located on some outdoor plugs) may also cause problems.
How do I clean it?
Answer: You don't, We do! When you are finished with your party, just turn it off. Pour out any mix you wish to save. We'll pick it up and clean it. It's all included in the rental price. Aaah, one less thing to worry about!
Are other kinds of drinks available?
Answer: Absolutely! In addition to our best selling Lime Margarita, we offer Strawberry Margarita, Strawberry Daiquiri, Pina Colada, Hurricane, Goombay Smash, Mojito, Rum Runner, Mai Tai, Hard Lemonade, Peach Bellini, Tropical TKO, Sangria and Go Mango, Blue Raspberry, Strawberry, Cherry Bomb, Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, Watermelon, Punch, Razzmatazzberry, Sour Apple and Go Mango. All flavors can be mixed with or without alcohol.
How long can I keep the machine?
Answer: We drop it off the day of your party and pick it the next day. If you need it longer, please let us know when you make your reservation and we will quote you an extended rental rate. Same day and evening pick-up is available for an extra fee of $45.
How far in advance should I reserve my machine?
Answer: We recommend two weeks but you can book as early as you like. Holidays may book sooner.
